Ashley Bank is located just off the A685, which meets the M6 at junction 38.

 
We are situated midway between Kendal and Penrith in Cumbria, 140 miles south of Glasgow, and 90 miles north of Manchester.
 
If you are travelling on the M6, come off the motorway at junction 38 (Tebay) take the A685 to Scotch Corner, Brough and Kirkby Stephen, travel along the road approximately 5 miles you will see the sign Newbiggin on Lune, and an island in the middle of the road, turn left up the hill, signposted Great Asby, over the cattle grid, after 200 meters turn left at the Ashley Bank sign, just past the bungalow on the right .
If coming from Scotch corner and Kirkby Stephen, travel on the A685, when you see the sign Newbiggin on Lune, do not go into the village pass it on the left, then turn right in front of the traffic island up the hill, take the great Asby road and follow the instructions as above.
 
If travelling by Train, the nearest station is Kirkby Stephen 5 miles away, (Settle/Carlisle line) and if travelling from the south, Oxenholme 16 miles, and from the north, Penrith 19 miles.
 
Taxis available from Kirkby Stephen, Oxenholme and Penrith .
 

There is a bus service outside Oxenholme train station on the main road around 1.45pm and 3.45pm, schedules change so it is best to ring this number 0870 6082608
